A little background
Once upon a time there was little ukulele music in the land.
Then it came to pass
that two brave souls, influenced by a couple of beers and much sharing of music,
wondered if there were others with a similar desire to play together. The word went out. The response was overwhelming and
the Corktown Ukulele Jam was formed.
A year passed and the jam evolved. Now there are many ukulele entities where there were
none. One of these is the UKE NiTE you see before you.
The joy of participating in a uke nite is difficult to describe. Come out and experience it for yourself.
Grab your ukulele and come to UKE NiTE at the Dominion on Queen (500 Queen
Street
East, just west of the DVP in Toronto) any Wednesday night.
Fear not, we haven't
eaten anyone yet.

Format
Corktown Ukulele Jam
is a theme night, the first Wednesday of every month. All aspects of the formal workshop
open-mic relate to a theme published in the Corktown Ukulele Jam calendar.
All other Wednesdays are an informal, but facilitated sharing of ukulele music. It's a
little bit workshop, a little bit campfire sing-a-long, a little bit country, a little bit
rock 'n roll. Bring what you've got, take what you need. You will find much of our current
repetoire in the Corktown Ukulele
Jambook. Come along and contribute to
making Wednesdays the best uke night of all.
